Nancy Gasser Lavoie, R.N., died peacefully, Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital with her four sons at her side. She was the wife of the late Lester Lavoie. A lifelong resident of Billerica, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Bertha (Dewhurst) Gasser. Nancy worked as a registered nurse at Tewksbury Hospital and other area hospitals for over 40 years as a loving caregiver. She enjoyed knitting slippers for her loved ones. She especially liked being with her family and her dog, Angel. She is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Susanne Manning of Willington, CT, Dave Manning and his fiancé, Judy Goulet, of Nashua, NH, James and Laurie Lavoie of Acton, and Joseph Lavoie of Billerica; her sister, Patricia Moore of North Conway; her dear lifelong friends, Barbara Nickerson, Dr. Arthur Giles, and Gen Otte , and the daughter she never had, Linda Coughlin.
