Obituary of Barbara A. Roberts

Barbara Alice "Pat" (Lees) Roberts, age 88, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Atria Longmeadow Assisted Living in Burlington. She was the beloved wife of the late George Elwin Roberts, Sr., who died in 1997. Born in Cambridge, February 14, 1925, Barbara was the daughter of the late Warren S. Lees and Alice (Hutchings) Lees. She graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1942 and married her high school sweetheart, George Elwin Roberts, Sr., in July of 1945. They lived in Somerville before relocating to Billerica in 1956. She moved to Atria Longmeadow Assisted Living in Burlington in 2011. Barbara worked at the Cricket Shoppe in Billerica. She was a 50 + year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Billerica Chapter # 212 and a member of the Billerica Senior Center. Barbara enjoyed traveling, painting and crocheting. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Lee (Roberts) Flight and her husband, Wilson, of Concord, her son and daughter-in-law, George E. Roberts, Jr., and his wife, Bettie, of Newburyport, her two grandchildren, George E. Roberts, III, of Lowell and Jennifer Flight of Anchorage, AK, her two great grandchildren, Jacob Roberts and Noah Roberts, both of Lowell, and her three sisters, Shirley Lawson of TN, Alice Schofield of Lowell, and Linda Keeley of Chelmsford. She was also the sister of the late Dorothy Jakobsen, Theresa Griffith, Ruth Nevin, James Lees, Robert Lees, Warren (Scotty) Lees and Elaine Raso.
