Obituary of Frances M. Barnes
Frances M. Barnes, age 83, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Denton S. Barnes. She was born in Lowell, the daughter of the late Earl W. Boyd and Lillian V. (Elliott) Boyd Ainger. Throughout her life she had many jobs, including working on a Lathe machine making metal parts during WW II and operating a camera for a graphic company, assembly, and laundry work. She enjoyed sewing quilts and giving them to her family and friends. She loved gardening and looking at her flowers from her screened porch in Billerica, where she lived for over 60 years. She loved the space program, Hampton Beach, hats, and going to parties. She was a caregiver to her family during illness and later to her neighbors. Frances greeted everyone with a smile. She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Cynthia and Richard Vose of Billerica and Priscilla M. Morgan of GA, her two sisters, Marian Sorenson of Tewksbury and Rita Clague of Lowell, her grandchildren, Robin Jenkins and her husband Jim of VA, Walter F. Morgan, Jr of GA, and Randy Morgan and his wife Patricia of GA. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Boyd and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
