Obituary of Kenneth F. Moloney

Kenneth Francis Moloney of Billerica, MA, died suddenly on July 12, 2009. Born on May 17,1952 in Dublin, Ireland, to Noreen Wallace Moloney and Peter Moloney, he is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, son, Ciaran, mother, Noreen, and brother, Ronald. Kenny graduated from the Kevin Street College of Technology in Dublin and worked as an electrical contractor in Ireland. He moved to Billerica in 1989 where he continued to work as an electrical contractor as he pursued a college education. He graduated cum laude from Harvard Extension of Harvard University earning a Bachelor of Arts. He also earned teaching certificates in Social Sciences, History, and teaching English as a Second Language. At the time of his death he was actively pursuing a Masters degree in social sciences. A pursuer of social causes, Kenny actively strove to leave the world a better place. He loved politics and loved to debate, but when views were divergent, he remained good humored, good craic, and fun to be with. He shared his extensive knowledge of history, language, and current events with friends, family, and as a substitute teacher in the Billerica Public Schools. Kenny loved to travel, and being with people was his greatest joy. Good humored and witty, he was quick with a joke and a desire to make friends smile no matter how dire things appeared. He enjoyed a good beer and often brewed his own. He will be missed by friends and family far and near, in Ireland, England, and the United States.
