Obituary of Barbara R. Skillin
Barbara R. (Herbert) Skillin, age 74, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading. Born in Everett, September 25, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mildred Herbert. Barbara worked in the mailroom for Continental Resources in Bedford. She was a Sunday school teacher at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Billerica as well as a youth group leader; she took many children on adventures and learning excursions. She especially loved taking care of her family. Barbara loved to garden and had many more great hobbies. She is survived by her fiancé, Eugene F. Weidman; her two daughters, Deborah Skillin and Cindy Skillin, both of Billerica; her son, Wayne Skillin of New Hampshire; her step children, Michelle Roberts of Billerica, Charles Weidman of Maine, Kathy Dunham of Lowell, Joseph Weidman of Lowell, and Robert Weidman of Billerica. She also leaves her grandchildren, Robert Mather, Katrina Skillin, Teresa Gauthier, and Patrick and Robert Weidman, and many more grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Brad Skillin and step mother of the late Gene Weidman and grandmother of the late Barbara Jean Mather.
