Clara (Frost) Brooks Marshall, age 96, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Allen Marshall and the late Calvin R. Brooks. Born in Waterville, Maine, January 27, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Louiebelle (Leathers) Frost. She was a bookkeeper for Town Paint & Supply in Cambridge for 25 years. Clara, who held a bachelor's degree from New England Theological Seminary, was an active member of New Colony Baptist Church in Billerica. She was a former manager of the New Colony Baptist Mission House and wrote 50 letters a month to shut-ins, the bereaved, hospitalized, and imprisoned persons. She also taught Bible study at various nursing homes. Clara is survived by her two sons, Dr. Gary R. Brooks and Gordon L. Brooks, and her daughter, Gwendolyn Brooks Stoddard. She also leaves her 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
