Obituary of Ann Marie Splaine
Ann Marie Splaine, age 80, of Billerica, died peacefully on October 2, 2014 in her home. Born in Cambridge, Ann Marie was raised in Arlington and Lowell. She received her Bachelor's Degree in teaching from Bridgewater State College and her Master's Degree from Boston University.
Ann Marie was a lifelong educator. After receiving her Master's Degree, she taught in the Billerica School System for her entire teaching career. She retired in 1994 and then focused her time on volunteer work in religious education at St. Theresa's Parish in Billerica where she was an active parishioner for over 50 years.
Ann Marie was known affectionately by her family as "Re". She is survived by her brother, Edward F. Splaine, Jr. and his wife, Jacquelyn, of Manchester, MA., her loving nephews, Mark Splaine and his wife, Joyce, of Newton, Kevin Splaine and his wife, Beth, of Grand Rapids, MI, and Neal Splaine and his wife, Jenny, of Winchester, and her cherished grand nephews and nieces, Nick, Chris, Jake, Jesse, Maggie, Lizzie and Max.
In addition to the support she received from St. Theresa's Parish, Ann Marie valued her close personal and professional friends over the years from the Billerica community. Further, Ann Marie and her family are deeply indebted to the staff of Billerica Crossings for their care and compassion at the end of her life.
