Arthur. A kings name. Named after his grandfathers, Arthur Doherty and Victor Travaglia. Arthur was with me and 3 other friends this fateful weekend. Together with Chris Maguire, Rich Wirtanen and Matt Balentine we were having a great time on the trails at Mooshead Lake in Maine. We've done this for about 12 years now, with different friends sometimes, and we always had a good time. The loss of a loved one, my little brother in this case, is always difficult to accept. Knowing that he was having a great time doing something he loved to do when he departed brings some solace. He touched so many lives, as evidenced by the outpouring of love through comments and such generous support through the fund setup in his name for his family. A piece of him remains in all of his friends and family. But I wish it were different. I wish my brother was still in this physical world so we could all enjoy him that much more. You're with Mom and Your Dad now bro - you're in better hands than you would be here. Cara, Devin and Kayce - we'll always be here for you. We all love you so much and will do whatever it takes to help you heal. But never forget him - he'll always be in your heart and right behind to guide you through the rest of your journey here. I love you Max, Cara, Devin and Kayce.

I don't even know where to begin. It always hurts to lose a loved one, but to lose your baby brother is just not reasonable. You were an incredible man my brother, and will be horribly missed. Your contagious laugh, your smile, your generosity and your sense of humor is what made you who you were, and will NEVER be forgotten. I know that time will heal, but this will take a long time. Your beautiful family will always be family. We will always look over them for you, and be there for whatever they need. It helps to know that you are with Mom and Nana now, and my faith will help me get through this loss. I love you forever and a day, and big bunches. Rest in peace Arthur.

I only knew Art a short period of time as he and I worked together for the past three months at Freudenberg IT, but I could tell he was a man of character. In the hours long conversations we had, he made quite an impression on me as a very genuine and kind person - traits far too few possess - and, telling by the responses here, those impressions were pretty accurate and he'll surely be missed. My family and I send thoughts and well-wishes to all those impacted by this most tragic loss and can only hope that you may find peace again.

Don, Daniel and I are friends of Cara and Art's from NC. Didn't know him as long as most of you but we definitely loved him. Hard to believe he'll never stop by and visit with us again. Even the dogs loved him.
To Art and Cara's family not only do you have our deepest condolences but please know that when Cara and the kids are back in NC they won't be alone. Whatever they need us we'll be there for them. Love to all of you.
