Obituary of Ellen K. Keaney
Ellen K. Keaney, age 90, died unexpectedly, Saturday, August 29, 2015, at her residence in Heatherwood Retirement Community of Tewksbury where she recently relocated. She was born in Arlington, August 23, 1925, the daughter of the late John B. and Mary L. (Donnelly) Keaney. Her family moved to Billerica in 1934 where she remained until her move to Tewksbury. She worked for 42 years for Massachusetts Electric as a clerk in the credit department. Ellen, who enjoyed gardening, took meticulous care of her home in Billerica for many years. She was known for her great cooking and baking. Ellen was also a talented artist who shared her beautiful paintings and artwork with family and friends. She was a member of the Middlesex Swimmer’s Club and the Women’s Club at St. Theresa Parish in Billerica where she was a faithful communicant. She enjoyed going on lots of trips in her retirement with her sister, especially to Ogunquit and York Maine. Ellen will be remembered by all whose lives she touched for her kind and generous spirit. She is survived by her two sisters, Mary P. Keaney with whom she lived in Tewksbury and Sr. Carole Louise Keaney, O.S.U., of NY; her nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was also the sister-in-law of Barbara and Marjorie Keaney and the sister of the late Philip Keaney, Hugh Keaney, Francis Keaney, Monsignor James Keaney and Reverend John Keaney.
