Obituary of Leonard L. Burlamachi

Leonard L. Burlamachi age 87 of Lakeland, FL formerly of Billerica and Somerville passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 10 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Anna L. (Solano) Burlamachi. Born in Somerville on April 21, 1928 he was the son of the late Peter D. and Mary C. (Razzaboni) Burlamachi. Leonard graduated from Somerville Trade School and soon enlisted in the United States Navy as he proudly served his country during WWII. After his return home he married Anna on September 22, 1956, they remained in Somerville before moving to Billerica in 1973. He worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters Local 25 in Boston for 59 years retiring in 1989. He then moved to Lakeland, Florida where he had many happy years of retirement. Family was important to Leonard, he cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings and nieces and nephews. He was kind, honest and hardworking, he loved those near and dear to him and always opened his home to all who visited. Leonard enjoyed flea-marketing, playing solitaire, watching and discussing the Boston Bruins, relaxing at home, traveling to new and exciting places as well as hosting many holiday and family gatherings. The dinner table was always fun and full of laughter. Along with his devoted wife survivors include his children, Leonard L. Burlamachi, Jr. of Boston, Judith Menezes and her husband Keith of Billerica, David L. Burlamachi and his companion Lynn Granfield of Tewksbury, Anna Davis and her husband Don of Lakeland, FL, Robert L. Burlamachi of Lakeland, FL and Richard L. Burlamachi and his wife Mary Ellen of Lowell. He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren his sister Lorraine Burlamachi of Somerville and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Dorothy Phillips, Barbara Hutchinson and Donald Burlamachi.
