Obituary of Dorothy G. Richard

BILLERICA – Dorothy G. Richard, age 92, beloved wife of nearly 64 years of Leonard J. Richard died Saturday surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in Trinity East, Newfoundland, Canada August 29, 1923, a daughter of the late Gerald S. and Isabelle (Fifield) Stares, and lived in Somerville, Woburn, Tewksbury, and Lowell before finally moving to Billerica thirty years ago. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Douglas and wife Tracey of Gilbert, Arizona, and David and wife Barbara of Gainesville, Georgia. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Debby Richard (wife of the late Mark Richard) of Methuen, MA, sister Marjorie and husband Donald Fudge of Billerica, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. She was a 60-year member of St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, North Billerica, MA, of which she was a member of the church choir and a devoted worker at the Thrift Shop for many years. The family would like to thank the staff of Sunny Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility of Chelmsford, MA for their devoted and compassionate care throughout her illness. “I’ve had a wonderful life. I’ve been blessed by having the best parents in the world along with a sister, as my best friend, guided me through my life. To top it all off, there was Lenny who put up with me and loved me for lo, these many years and who along with my three sons made my life complete. I could not ask for more and I’ve thanked God every day. I love you all! ~ Dot / Mom”
