Shirley Ann (Fletcher) Saunders, age 88, died at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip James Saunders. She was born in Medford, June 13, 1928, the daughter of the late Russell and Olive (Knights) Fletcher. Shirley worked as an office manager in Dr. Michael B. Roberts medical office in Lowell for over 20 years. She was a longtime resident of Billerica and an active member of the First Congregational Church in Billerica. She is survived by her two sons and daughters -in-law, Russell F. Saunders and his wife, Stephanie A. Saunders of Franklin, MA, and Philip J. Saunders, Jr., and his wife, Diana Saunders of Billerica; her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth (Betsy) O. Cerra and her husband, Anthony Cerra, Jr. of Tyngsboro; her grandchildren, James Saunders of Broken Arrow, OK, Traci D’Antonio of Framingham, Amanda Cerra of Tyngsboro, Katherine Cerra of Dracut, and Nicole, Laura and Jessica Saunders, all of Billerica. She also leaves her great grandchildren, Patrick, Billy and Jason Saunders of Broken Arrow, OK, and Kayla Marriott and Madison Melo of Dracut as well as her two nieces, Penne Shea of Chelmsford and Ginnie Sibley of Bedford.
