Visiting 1 hour prior to funeral mass at St. Theresa's Church from 10-11 a.m. A luncheon at Cafe Escadrille, 26 Cambridge St., Burlington, MA, at 12:30 p.m. will follow funeral mass. (Aucoin) Kenney, age 89, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington. Born in Waltham, December 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Amadee and Mary Aucoin. Yvonne graduate from Framingham State College with a teaching degree. She taught in an elementary school and at a day care in Burlington. First and foremost Yvonne (Grammy) loved gardening and the Boston Red Sox. She took great pride in caring for her flowers and her garden; she also took pride in knowing more baseball statistics than the sports announcers. Yvonne's passion was singing. She sang in the Mishawum Choral Society as a soprano for over 40 years. She was an avid reader and worked at the Burlington Public Library for 25 years. She loved word puzzles and recently completed a 1000 New York Times crossword puzzle book. Yvonne found comfort and community through her strong Catholic faith and attended church weekly. She sang in the choir at St. Malachy's Church in Burlington. She spent most of her time at home surrounded by family and friends, tending to her garden, caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, baking her delicious recipes, reading, and watching her favorite shows which included Family Feud, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Murder She Wrote. She loved her friends, her children, and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Anthony DiPersio of Billerica, her sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Laura Kenney of Lowell and David and Pat Kenney of Hookset, NH; her grandchildren, Samantha Bilotta and her husband, Steve, Jessica Thain and her husband, Corey, Bianca DiPersio, Jacqueline DiPersio, Ian Kenney, Alexis Kenney, Megan Kenney-Spiess and her husband, Andy, and Kim Kenney. She also leaves her great grandchildren, Evan, Colin, Gwen, Carter, Brooke, Grace, Daelyn, Lukas, Tyler, Maddie, Ryan, Nevaeh and Conor.
