Obituary of Jonathan McClam

Our brother in Christ, Jonathan McClam, 40, of Billerica, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, after a lengthy illness. Jonathan was a member of Calvary Chapel Chelmsford for many years and was loved by many for his caring heart and tender spirit. Though in a daily, often painful struggle, with the effects of Sickle Cell Disease, Jon had a kind word for everyone and made time to minister to the needs of others within the church family. Jon was born Nov. 24, 1976 and was a graduate of Brockton High School. He had lived in Billerica for several years. Jon's roommate was his beloved cat, Max, whom he adopted from the Lowell Humane Society. Jon had a soft spot in his heart for the outcasts of the world, both human and animal, showing love and compassion, as Jesus did. Jon enjoyed music and sci-fi movies, such as The Transformers, Spiderman and Superman series. But above all, Jon enjoyed spending quality time with his family and many friends. In recent years, Jon had become a passionate advocate for compassionate medical care of those suffering with Sickle-Cell Disease. Among these activities was his role as Advocate Liason between Group Partnerships and Patient needs. at sickleSTRONG, Inc. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Road,(Rt. 3A),Billerica. Visiting hours will be Saturday, Jan. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a service at the funeral home.'
