David Allen Farmer, Sr., age 75, died Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington due to complications following a long illness. Born February 8, 1942 in Billerica, he was the son of the late James Everett and Phyllis Caroline (Pratt) Farmer. Prior to his retirement, David worked as an engineer at General Dynamics, formerly GTE, as well as at Raytheon Corporation. David was an avid fisherman and most-enjoyed his time spent with children and grandchildren. David was a lover of books, volunteering at the Billerica Public Library, and he was also active in the community through scouting. He is survived by his close friend, Barbara Rosato of Carlisle, his second wife, Mary (Collins) Farmer of Billerica, and his eight children, Cheryl, Michelle, Sally, Susie, Mary Rose, David, Carolyn and Joseph. He also leaves his 17 grandchildren, his brothers, James, John, and Phillip, all of Billerica, and his sister, Diane Bennett of Acton.
