Deidra M. (Sanchez) Burke August 28, 1945 – April 30, 2017 O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen. Deidra M. (Sanchez) Burke, age 71, of Tyngsboro formerly of Billerica, sadly passed away at Lowell General Hospital on April 30, 2017. Deidra was born in Brighton and was raised in Watertown; she was the dear daughter of the late Eugene F. and Anne (Sylvain) Sanchez. Deidra married her beloved husband, John M. Burke, Sr., in the summer of 1969, they were married for 47 wonderful years. Deidra attended Boston City Nursing School, was a registered nurse who worked for over 40 years at the New England Rehabilitation Center in Woburn and the Visiting Nurses Association in Lowell, specializing in hospice. Prior to moving to Tyngsboro, she was a long time resident of Billerica and a communicant of St. Theresa’s Parish. She was a devoted and loving mother to her 6 children. Deidra found great joy in caring for her grandchildren and spending time with her adoring husband. She loved watching all sports, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, reading and attending many recitals, competitions, games and concerts. She especially enjoyed being the “Band Nurse” when her children attended Billerica Memorial High School. She is also survived by her son John M. Burke, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Boxboro, her daughters Karen A. (Burke) Mahon and her husband Christopher of Tyngsboro, Cheryl M. (Burke) Bartolone and her husband Thomas of Tewksbury, Christine J. Burke and Mikey Connell of Lowell, Kathleen F. (Burke) Uzdanovich and her husband Steven of Hudson, NH, and Anne M. (Burke) DeMarco and her husband Steven of Wilmington; her grandchildren Joshua and Julianne Gath, Charlie, Charlotte and Cheyenne Bartolone, Hazel and Evelyn Burke, Audrey and Lucy Mahon, and Mila and Luka Uzdanovich, who she loved with all of her heart; her late brother Eugene F. Sanchez, Jr. and his wife Cecily of Peoria, AZ, her loving sister Martha (Sanchez) Keaveney and her husband Martin of Dexter, ME, and brothers Dennis Sanchez and his wife Shirley of Waltham, and Robert Sanchez and his wife Sandra of Stow, as well as many nieces and nephews who she adored. The wake will be held at Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Road (Rt. 3), Billerica, MA on Wednesday, May 3rd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Church, Billerica, Thursday, May 4th at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Deidra will be buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery on River Road in Tewksbury.
