Obituary of Dorothy E. Burlamachi

Dorothy E. (Bemis) Burlamachi, age 81, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife and soulmate of Thomas F. “Gruff” Burlamachi and they were happily married for 60 years. Dorothy was born in Somerville, August 29, 1936, the daughter of the late Frederick and Ruth (Hughes) Bemis. Dorothy, a faithful communicant at St. Mary’s Church in Billerica, served there as a eucharistic minister as well. She also served at Fr. Ralph DiOrio Apostolate of Healing Ministry in Worcester and St. Peter’s Church in Lowell. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and William Adley of Tewksbury. Dorothy was also the mother of the late Ellen Lutz and Dorothy Jamieson. She is also survived by her sisters, Carol Dobson of York, Maine and Ruth (Penny) George of Derry, NH, and her two brothers, Frederick Bemis of Haverhill and Edward Bemis of SC. In addition, Dorothy leaves her grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
