Gertrude E. (Lloyd) Barakos, 83, of Billerica, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2017 at her home. Gertrude Barakos was born in Boston MA, on December 24, 1933, the daughter of the late James Lloyd and Gertrude (Carney) Lloyd. Raised and educated in Billerica, MA, she was the beloved wife of the late George Barakos whom she married on October 13, 1962 in Lorain, Ohio. She worked at the Billerica Walgreens Hallmark Department. Prior to that she worked for Woburn High School and retired after 15 years. Gertrude is preceded in death by her sisters, Tish Lloyd of Ohio and Loretta LeBlanc of New Hampshire and her brothers, Edward Lloyd of Massachusetts and Joseph Lloyd of New Hampshire. Gertrude is survived by her daughter Diane Hustak of Nevada, three sons, James and Carol Barakos of Dracut, Keith Barakos and Jesus Hernandez of Billerica, Andrew Barakos of Billerica and Jeannie Patterson; three brothers, Jimmy Lloyd and Linda of Tennessee, Richard Lloyd and Sue of Ohio and Robert Lloyd and Mary also of Ohio; five grandchildren, Heather, Jason, Bridget, Cameron and Spencer and one great grandson, Connor. The family of Gertrude Barakos wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the Veterans Association of Billerica as well as the nurses and aids of Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley and Hospice organizations.
