Obituary of Judith Rossi

Judith “Judy” Rossi, 69, died of cancer Monday, Dec 4, 2017, surrounded by family at her home in Winston-Salem, NC. Judy was born in Cambridge. She was the third of eight children born to Achille and Mary Rossi. She graduated from St. Mary of the Annunciation High School in 1965. Judy graduated from Boston City Hospital Nursing School in 1968. She worked as a nurse for 49 years. Judy loved the fast pace of the Emergency Room, and during her career worked at Cambridge City Hospital, Exeter Hospital, and North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Judy finished her nursing career at the Forsyth County Detention Center. Judy was a single mom and raised two children on her own. In 1982, she worked third shift at night at Exeter Hospital, and during the day built a house in Epping, NH. Her family moved to Winston-Salem, NC in 1986 where she worked at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital for 22 years. Judy put both of her children through college. She was a testament to hard work and determination. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother Ricky Rossi, of Cambridge. She is survived by her children; Krista Peck Millard and her husband, Chip, and two grandchildren, O’Brien and Charlie Millard of Pittsboro, NC; her son, Dr. Clifford “Chip” Peck of Honolulu, HI. Judy will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters; Anne Rossi of Roslindale; Mary “Sazi” (Kevin) Marden of Waltham; Fr. Thomas Rossi of Dorchester; Paul (Rosemary) Rossi of Melrose; Robert (Irene) Rossi of Reading; Kay (Carl) Nowiszewski of Windsor, CT. She had ten amazing nieces and nephews she loved very much. Judy was devoted to her grandchildren. She took so many pictures of them she earned the nickname, “Grandma Flash.” Judy was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. She dedicated an entire room in her house to her collection of memorabilia, including a foul ball she caught at Fenway Park in 1994. A memorial service will be held at the John C.
