Obituary of Frances Mary Saunders

Frances Mary (Doran) Saunders, age 98, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, January 10, 2018 following a long illness. She was born in Cambridge, graduate of St. Mary’s, married the love of her life, James Nason Saunders on December 21, 1941. They moved to Billerica, MA in 1951 and raised 7 children. Frances was the Rio Vista Girl Scout and the Boy Scout Leader. In the very early years of Little League Baseball cheered and ran the concession stand for all the kids. “Nana” loved her TV game shows and watching Saturday morning Cowboys and Creature Feature with her grandchildren. Frances stayed in Billerica, worked at Mal’s Department Store and later retiring from Millipore of Bedford, MA. The last few years she resided at Woodbriar of Wilmington. Frances is predeceased by her husband James, her parents Robert and Marion Doran, her brothers William and Robert Doran, her son Robert Saunders, her daughter Barbara Saunders and her granddaughter Emily Barbara Johne. Frances is survived by her loving children Marion Frances Devlin of Bolivia NC, James Nason Saunders Jr of Lowell MA, Peter Vincent Saunders of Barrington, NH, Laurie Ann Johne-Nurse of St. Augustine FL, and Bradford Mark Saunders of Salem NH. She also leaves her loving grandchildren, Scott Devlin, Kelliann Bazemore, Robert J Saunders, Marion Dodge, William Saunders, James P Saunders, James N Saunders III, Matthew Saunders, Melanie Berg, Kimberly Saunders, and Bradford Saunders Jr and 10 great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by all.
