Frederick C. McCarthy, a US Army Veteran, age 65, of Billerica, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 after an extended illness with family at his side. Born in Chelsea, September 18, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles and Rose (Sostillio) McCarthy. He leaves behind his loving wife, Susan (Halychyn) McCarthy, his daughter, Casey McCarthy, and his siblings, Charles McCarthy and his wife, Kathy, Ellen Evans and her husband, Greg, Rosemarie Smith, and Karen Goldthwaite, along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Patricia Gillis, and her husband, Charles, and his brother-in-law, Gary Halychyn and his wife, Joanne. He was also the son-in-law of the late Joseph and Catherine Haychyn. Fred was predeceased by his daughter, Megan Catherine McCarthy. Family and friends may gather to honor and remember Fred at Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A),Billerica, Thursday February 15, from 3:00-6:00 pm. Relatives and friends invited.
