Obituary of Donald A. Beardsley

Donald A. Beardsley, 81 of Billerica, MA left this life Sunday morning, June 3, 2018 after a valiant and courageous battle with series of long term health issues. He passed in the comfort of his home and in the presence of family. He was the son of the late James E. Beardsley Sr. and Irene (Sticht) Beardsley of Essex, CT. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Paula C. Beardsley, his brother James E. Beardsley, Jr. of Deep River, CT; children Donald A. Beardsley, Jr. of FL, Jamie S. Beardsley of VA, Daniel J. Beardsley of TN, Jennifer A. Lyle of AZ and Matthew J. Sullivan of NY, multiple nieces and nephews, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and his little buddy “Oliver”. Don served his country in the US Navy and later attended The University of Hartford. He made his home in Billerica over 50 years ago to begin his long and prosperous career in the electronics manufacturing industry in the area, retiring at age 79. Don was well known for his kind and loving personal contact with humanity. His warmth, smile and humor was spread about his family, friends, colleagues, and community. He welcomed any opportunity to make a new friend and share one of his MANY entertaining and humorous stories. Don will be remembered for his faithful service to Christ as well as to the First Congregational Church in Billerica, serving as a Trustee, Eucharistic Minister to the homebound, and Mentor to confirmands. He was always willing and available to lend a hand, tool, or effort to church projects; he was a true giver in life. Visiting hours will be held at the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 18 Andover Rd., Billerica on Saturday, June 9, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited.
