Obituary of Richard D. Spaulding
Richard D. “Rick” Spaulding, Jr., age 60, died Friday, July 20, 2018 in Portland, Maine due to a motorcycle accident. He was the beloved husband of Carol (Naimo) Spaulding with whom he would have celebrated 30 years of marriage this October. He was born in Lowell, the son of the late Richard D. Spaulding, Sr., and the late Jeanette (Cabral) Spaulding. He was the owner and operator of R & M Outdoor Power Equipment Service in North Billerica. Rick was also an instructor at Merrimack Special Education Collaborative in Billerica where he taught small engine repair for 7 years. He also worked for the D.P.W. in Billerica and Dracut on repairs of their equipment. He was one of the original members of the Billerica Chamber of Commerce. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons; Michael Spaulding and his partner, Patrice Anderson, of Lowell and Peter M. Breen and his wife, Harua, of Kagoshima, Japan and his daughter, Elizabeth Breen of Billerica. He also leaves his sister, Cheryl Spaulding of NH and his brother, Mark Spaulding and his wife, Gina, of Lincoln, ME. In addition, he is survived by his step mother, Cathy Spaulding and his stepbrother, Larry Anderson and his wife, Tracy, of Lincoln, ME and his step sister, Lorrie Springer and her husband, Brent, of Bangor, ME.
