I was a member of the Applicon Users Group from 1976 to 1981 and had the pleasure of working with Bev as she planned and organized our meetings. We went to many fun places like Scottsdale AZ, Clearwater FL, Detroit MI, Dallas TX, and of course Boston.
She was a consummate professional and always made sure that every detail was covered. This was back in the day when a presentation was a Kodak Carousel full of 35mm slides, as PowerPoint had not been invented yet. Trying to keep all of those presentations together, making sure that everyone had a room, and was fed, organizing outings and tracking reservations and payments was work that she and her team did happily. She understood that we were all customers and the better our experience was, the more $400,000 computer systems we would buy (our company bought a dozen).
I stumbled onto this website just looking for people I had worked with at Applicon, and was greatly saddened to see her smiling face here. I am happy that I knew here, and offer my heartfelt condolences to her family.
